About Hugmore

Have you ever spent so much time thinking and worrying about what the future holds that you forget that the whole point of life is just to go out and LIVE it?

That was starting to be my  “grande problema”.  I was so caught up in worrying about the future of my career, planning how we could buy our future dream home and creating the perfect existence that it completely skipped my mind that these things are all very well and good but they are just steps along the “walk of life” – without remembering to get out there and ENJOY the steps along the way they are all rather pointless.

Perhaps I will never really understand what sparked this sudden realisation but slowly it dawned on me that life didn’t need to be like this.  I didn’t need to wait for the perfect moment.  In fact I didn’t have to be perfect either.

So that is the gist of what this blog is going to be about: my journey from a life of WAITING to a life of LIVING and enjoying that wonderful gift of the here and now.

I hope you will join me on the journey.

Took me 40 years to realize that I want to just live in the moment and do the things that I have true passion for instead of being trapped in the usual drudgery. Love that you’re embarking on this journey too 🙂 Love the name of your blog, by the way…who doesn’t love more hugs.

Thanks bookjunkie – it isn’t always an easy journey so much better to have some people I can share it with. How have you found the journey? I’m guessing you are some way ahead of me so may have some little pearls of wisdom for me too.

It is fantastic that you have decided to enjoy the moment and with it I sense real maturity. Keep at it …….. life has a way of trying to steal these gems away from us…….good luck…..love the choice of your tree lined pathway.

Thanks – will be doing my best to hang onto the gems of all descriptions even if they need shining up or digging up from the dirt every so often.

Why not join in the fun?

  3. I’m glad to meet you. I admire the goals you have set for your blog.

Make sure you do LIVE the life you have, do those things that you think are too time consuming or too far. Travel, love, laugh and cry. Life is short and sometimes cruel so make the most of every moment, every pleasure, every new sight and sound. Revel in it and add it to your experiences.

Jeeze, I sound like a psychiatrist!

  5. I so agree. Having spent most of my life striving to be what I thought everyone else wanted, I have finally arrived at a point in the journey where I’m learning to simply ‘be’, and enjoy life – all the messy beauty of it. What an adventure it is! Thanks for sharing your journey :).

Thanks Melissa. Life is an adventure and adventures always have ups and downs but what a thrill to have the chance to grasp it and make the very most of it! Glad that you have also arrived at that place. Keep up the good work!

  6. You’ve made an excellent point. It’s so simple and obvious, and yet so hard to see when you’re caught up in chasing a dream or an ideal. Your outlook is positive and refreshing, and a good reminder for all of us that life is for living.

Really glad to meet you. I like how you clearly state that sometimes we worry so much and forget the one thing that seems so obvious…to LIVE waiting eagerly for a tomorrow that never comes. Your blog is so warm and inviting. Thanks for the lovely reminder of slowing doing and enjoying the moment that is life.

Thanks – sadly something I have had to learn by experience and remember anew every day. I hope that it helps you to enjoy the moment just that bit more.

Thanks for the great feedback and for taking the time to stop by and comment.

  8. For the wonderful Hugmore: I’ve just given you a Liebster Blog Award – http://lornastearoomdelights.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/dearest-blogs/

My post is a bit all over the place but here’s the proper info you need to dish out some awards of your own:

“Liebster is German and translates into English as “dearest” or ”favorite”. A Liebster Blog Award is given to talented bloggers who have less than 200 followers. So, in a way the award not only recognizes these bloggers as amazingly gifted in their own right but also as your very own personal favorites.”

    How to participate:
Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed. (Some say just 3 or more blogs of less than 200 followers each)
Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.
