Snow, belief and flexible working patterns

Amazing how times have changed. Thanks to wireless and portable devices many people can now work from home or wherever they choose rather than being forced rat-like into factories and office buildings. So when the snow hit the UK our HR teams even suggested we make use of these facilities and stay home to work rather than risk our lives in the snow and ice.

All we need now is for our bosses to believe in our ability to do work without them looking on and the takeover of this new world will be complete.

PS. Can you tell I’ve been watching a Tim Burton movie this evening? Goodnight, Alice.

I think it’s wonderful to be valued enough to want to keep you off the treacherous roads. And having the technology and the ability to work from home is nice, too.

Yep, they done good. But there are still some out there who are suspicious of home working. All we do is swap office gossip for putting some washing on and working longer hours because we don’t need to worry about the commute, And we stay safe too, Job done.

Your HR teams suggested that you work from home rather than risk your safety in bad weather. Great idea, hope the boss goes along.
